Tried to open Facebook and it pops up then it’s gone? Works on phone but not the iPad?

This has become a common issue. Simple fix. Delete the app, then download it again. Works for everyone.

The current release still works with iPhone - and as a fallback, the web portal from a browser is also available.
It won't. That is a standard warning when deleting any app. Your Facebook data is not stored on your phone. The worst thing you may have to do is sign back into Facebook with your user name and password.

Am I to assume that you’ve managed to successfully reinstate v275 (the current release) under iPadOS 13.5.1?
As I actively avoid the platform myself, I’m merely providing tech support to the chief. Social Media platforms are not something with which I make any effort to maintain any technical expertise.
I know it's not my fault, my friend. I'm not a huge user of Social Media, but do use Facebook to keep in touch with some family members and have one group, which is very liberal I belong to, where we commiserate over the current administration!

No, just on your iPad.
I'm sorry it didn't work. It worked on both our iPad 11's. My brother's iPad 6. My sister in laws iPad 7. Several friends iPad's as well.
Commiserate... much of the “free world” can perhaps see why you might be so inclined. 🙂
