Install Windows on Macbook Pro to run Navision

Hello,

I need to run MS Navision on my Macbook. I am being told that Microsoft does not deliver a version of their Navision to directly run on Mac OS - can somebody confirm whether this is at all true?

If it is true, then following questions:

I am basically offered 2 options: install a Windows partition through bootcamp or use a VMWare type of product to emulate Windows when using Navision. Can I have pros/cons of both options please?

Do you have instructions available on how to use bootcamp, how to install this Windows partition on the macbook?

Thank you.

Apparently, it is now called Dynamics 365 (https://dynamics.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/) Sounds like a Personal Physical Trainer. 😉

  • Bootcamp runs Windows natively, but requires a reboot to switch between macOS and Windows (Boot Camp - Official Apple Support)
  • Virtualization use macOS as the host OS to run Windows as a guest OS and may be helpful, if you want to run light-duty software in Windows. Performance can be limited, depending on computer resources necessary. This can cause battery issues, when both Host and Guest OSes run simultaneously.
  • Some engines allow a Bootcamp partition to be imported as a VMK, giving you the best of both worlds.
