My Apple Pencil Gen 2 doesn’t work?

The tip is screwed in as tightly as possible, but wobbles. The tip is not the issue, I think it’s that the rod inside moves from side to side too much. It clicks when you tap it, and the iPad doesn’t respond when you go to write or draw. I really don’t want to have to replace my month old pencil. Is there anything I can do?
