Random purchases on apple ID

Hi, i had a iphone a long time ago and along with it an apple ID, i haven't touched the account in years and i had a string of purchases made on the account emailed to me in the past day. i no longer have access to the account and the security questions are absolutely not the ones i set. these payments are meaningless to me as i was a kid when i had the phone and no card was linked at the time, and if it was it would have expired by now.

The emails came at 5:54 AM this morning and they all came within a minute of each other

despite it not mattering, i would like to get to the bottom of these strange purchases, if they are real and if so why does this person have such bad taste in music.

I've redacted information like the address (which is an old address of mine) and the apple ID which is an email i use to this day if anyone was wondering

I am confused by some of what you say, but, if you can, see your purchase history for the App Store or iTunes Store https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204088 to see if the charges were made by Apple. If you have a problem with a subscription or a purchase, see Subscriptions and Purchases https://support.apple.com/en-euro/billing. If you think you may be able to get a refund, then use the request a refund link. It will take you to Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple https://support.apple.com/en-euro/HT204084

You also can get Apple telephone support for help in solving your problem using this link https://getsupport.apple.com/?caller=kbase&PGF=PGF63005&category_id=SC0245&symptom_id=23362 Be patient; sometimes you can't get immediate telephone support.

And here is how to contact iTunes worldwide support via text or chat using this link https://support.apple.com/choose-country-region/itunes After choosing your country, see the heading Tell us how we can help

But, I am concerned that you may have been scammed. Apple does not make many billing errors. And, see this heading below especially--How to identify scams related to purported apple notifications—per Eric Root

And, could you have provided any potentially damaging information to anyone? If yes, you'll need to follow up, for example, with a credit card company, Apple, Social Security, your bank, etc.

“Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, not Dear Customer, Dear Client or by using your e-mail address. The e-mail will be from @apple.com or @iTunes.com. E-mail addresses can be spoofed. You can go to Mail/View/Message/Show all Headers to see more. Apple emails won't have poor grammar/misspellings. Apple e-mails will never contain an attachment. Apple will never request personal information by email such as Social Security numbers, your Mother’s maiden name or full credit card numbers. …The only exception to the above I have noticed is if you order something from the Apple Store (apple.com), your receipt will be addressed to Dear Apple Customer. That is a receipt for a purchase you initiated.”

When Eric says Apple will always address you by your name or the name they have on file for you, I am not sure if he intends to include being address by your first name. I get some pertinent Apple emails that use only my first Name.
