iCloud Photos on Windows 10 not showing all options

I want to change the location of my iCloud Photos folder. However, when I go to the options for iCloud Photos, the option to specify the iCloud Photos folder location is not present. Other options are also missing as well. The only options present are a check box to switch "iCloud Photos" on or off and a checkbox for "Shared Albums". Only "Shared Albums" allows me to change the folder location. Please see the first attached image, which shows the problem. The options I expect to find can be seen in the second attached image, also available on Apple's website here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205323.

Where are the missing options? How do I restore them?

Hi chris_g1,

I thank you for your reply. It was possible to change the location of the iCloud Photos Download and Upload folders in the past, before iCloud for Windows became only available through the Microsoft Store. It is still possible to change the location of the iCloud Photos Shared folder.

An installation of iCloud from an old setup file (made prior to the Microsoft Store transition) makes it possible to change the other iCloud Photo folder locations. This is true for a currently up to date version of Windows 10.

Thank you again for your reply.

Sincerely,

Reid

Hi reid155!

I understand that you’re unable to change the location of iCloud Photos on your PC, and I'm happy to help.  It's currently not possible to change the location for iCloud Photos on your computer.  Regarding the missing options that you're not seeing, those options are missing because My Photo Stream is not available in Windows 10 as described in this article under the "What happened to the My Photo Stream folder?" heading:

If your iCloud Photos aren't loading on your PC

Cheers!
