Migration Assistant Won’t Connect to Macbooks

Hello

i purchased a new MacBook Pro and am trying to use the migration assistant to transfer my data from my old MacBook (OS X Lion). They are connected to the same WiFi and are both just saying “looking for source” indefinitely. How do I fix this?

thanks

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities Bencoleman7,

We see that you're getting an error message when trying to transfer your data from your old Mac to your new Mac. We know how important it is to have your data on your new Mac, and we'd be happy to help.

Take a look at the article below to help with using Migration Assistant. If you go through this article and the issue remains, you might want to consider manually connecting the devices with a cable to transfer the data.
