Email on my Mac and iPhone

I don't understand why all new mail on my Mac is not showing up in my mail app on my iPhone. This started happening recently and I don't understand why.

iPhone 11, iOS 13

Maybe you changed your email protocol from IMAP to POP on one of the devices. Check that the account is configured as IMAP on all devices accessing the email account.

Thank you! The problem is with having more than one account and passwords. Once the 2 accounts were linked on all devices with one password, the problem was resolved. Also, finding all apps associated with att and bellsouth and updating the password was required.
