I purchased this iphone XS Max from my friend and now using it in india. But i cant use sim due to country or career lock so please unlock the career lock or country lock of this phone so i can use the sim.

I went to apple store and they told me that only the country from where you purchased it can unlock the career lock or network lock. Please help me out
