MacOS Catalina hard crash when apps save video to disk

Hi,

Couple of days ago I recorded a Zoom session and was prompted to convert it to an MP4. During the conversion, my Macbook crashed.

Today I was finishing up a Camtasia video. Saved it as an MP4 to a local file. Part way through the save, my Macbook crashed.

Both the Zoom video conversion and the Camtasia output crashes are 100% repeatable.

I've been on Catalina 10.15.5 for a while and I've saved many Camtasia videos during that time (no Zoom, though).

Anyone experienced anything like this? I hoped to find something obvious to share in Console, but I'm unfamiliar with it. Perhaps someone can help direct me to pull out something to help diagnose.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.15

I don't read kernel panic reports. Just like I don't do Windows. 😀

It looks like the screenshots for my Etrecheck post didn't make it. I'll repost:

Download and run Etrecheck. Etrecheck is a diagnostic tool that was developed by one of the most respected users here in the ASC and recommended by Apple Support  to provide a snapshot of the system and help identify the more obvious culprits that can adversely affect a Mac's performance.

Copy the report

and use the Add Text button to include the report in your reply. How to use the Add Text Feature When Posting Large Amounts of Text, i.e. an Etrecheck Report

IMPORTANT:

Before running Etrecheck assign Full Disk Access to Etrecheck in the Etrecheck's Privacy preference pane so that it can get additional information from the Console and log files for the report:

Also click and read the About info to further permit full disk access.

Then we can examine the report and see if we can determine what might be causing the problem.
