Green screen when restarted.

I just purchased a new Mac mini (2020). Shortly after beginning the new device setup process, the screen got a weird green tint.

It kept the green tint even after setup was completed and I was logged into the computer. I checked display settings and found if I picked a different color profile for the monitor, the screen would look normal again.

After some tests, I have determined the default color profile it installs for my monitor must be corrupt, since it is the only profile that causes a problem.

Selecting a different color profile fixes the problem while I am logged in, but if I restart the green comes back. Despite deleting the color profile, when I restart the profile has returned.

Since it’s new and I haven’t started using it yet, I tried wiping the hard drive and reinstalling the OS, but the green profile won’t go away.

Any ideas how to get rid of the bad color profile for good?

Hello jbgamble1,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

It appears that your display has a green tint when you start your new Mac mini. The tint remains until you select a different color profile, but it will return when you restart the computer. Erasing and reinstalling macOS on the computer had no effect on the issue. One thing you haven't tried is to reset the SMC and NVRAM on your the computer. These support articles will provide the steps for both of these resets:

Best regards.
