I lost my files - could be a reason to sign out from iCloud drive - I found the files mainly documents in the iCloud drive (archive) in the hidden .trash folder, how can I put them back to their original places/ folders.
the document files are more than 2000 so it would be a huge exercise if I will save them one by one, please share your experience and help my question, thanks

Hold shift key click on first file and then again click the nth file ( make sure you select in very small numbers ) to select , copy them ( use command and C keys ) and paste over ( use command and V keys ) , click on finder > under iCloud section > iCloud Drive > Documents
Are you talking about .trash of Mac or of iCloud Drive ( archive ) .
There is no put back in iCloud Drive ( archive ) , if you are talking about Mac trash , select the files and right click and click on put back .
Normally, when your iCloud Drive is actively being synced between the cloud and your Mac, when you delete items they will be placed in the trash on your Mac, whereby allowing you to delete them from the trash and remove them completely. However, when you break that set up and archive all the data that was on the iCloud Drive, the association between the iCloud Drive and your trashcan is broken.
I always select all the files I want to move or copy, sometimes there are thousands, I've never had any trouble before.
Basic principle for selecting the the files ( selecting massive files ) will hang a spinning beach ball of death will start occurring , in the same way if mails are selected from imap accounts and deleted they are also selected in small numbers / also for photos in photo application .
The file path being broken, isn't an error or something that's fixable, it happens when something gets moved from one volume to another. I don't see how the finder could know where to put these files, but I could be wrong.
Unfortunately they are in the .trash of iCloud Drive (archive) - it look like that I have to restore them one by one - long way.
any idea why these files went to .trash of iCloud drive (archive) - I don't remember deleting any file -

Can I ask the purpose of only selecting a very small number?
in finder > recents > select massive files > and move to trash , once again select / then copy and paste them again to recents , and see what happens .
I can select and drag them, but my question was if we can put them back the way we can from normal trash folder, is there any way to do the same with hidden .trash files
Agh, you mean, is there a put back option, no there doesn't appear to be. I suspect this may well be because the file path has been broken.

If this were the case I'd very much doubt that Apple would add a select all (⌘A) option in the finder.
