iPad page comes up as a small narrow right hand pane

When I click on something to open an additional page it comes up as a small narrow right hand pane with a A at the top. It used to come up as a full sized page. How do I stop this from happening? It is very annoying especially when trying to look at a store ad. etc...

You perhaps have a Slide-Over view enabled, this being a feature of iPadOS.


The easiest way to switch from Slide Over to a full-screen window is to touch-and-hold the small drag-bar at the top of the Slide Over Window, drag to the top-centre of the screen - then release; this window will become full screen.
