Macbook Pro adding random periods when typing

My keyboard has been inserting random periods while typing and it's super frustrating! It's not. the "double space period" issue that others have described. Just the occasional addition. of a period as I'm typing and hitting the space bar (as you can see. it's happened a few times just while typing this!) I saw someone had this same question last year and apparently. received a successful solution, but the response has been. deleted. Thanks for any help. you can provide!
