Programs still in "file and folders" privacy settings after uninstall

Hello,

I uninstalled recently a program, not only deleting the program from the Applications folder but also removing all the related files from the ~/Library folder and alikes.

So the application is not there anymore, no trace of it in the file system, except in: Settings -> Security and Privacy -> Privacy -> Files & Folders

I have not managed to figure out how to remove that reference to the uninstalled program from there.

I am pretty sure this is an issue that is not specific to the Epic Games Launcher.

Any ideas?

See the + and - buttons at the bottom of the window? Select the element you want to remove and click the - one.

The list is just that, a list. It doesn't scan the drive for apps and display what privileges they have set. It builds a list and there doesn't appear to be a way for the OS to clean it up when you delete an app.

Maybe there is something, but it doesn't work immediately.

Unlocked the padlock at bottom, left?

Regardless, it doesn't matter if they are still there. They are not installed and they are unchecked. They don't have access since they don't exist and they won't have access when reinstalled because it is not checked.

Thank you for the tip, I cannot believe I didnt see that !

I tried again and yes! It deleted one of the instances but the other one is still there and cannot be selected / nothing happens when pressing the - button.

Very mysterious :)

I did indeed unlocked the padlock as well.

And you are right, I know it is harmless to be there as the program is not in the system, it is just a bit of perfectionism and curiosity if there is a way to fully clean up this :)
