How to reset backup passcode and/or avoid 2-factor authentication

I had an iPhone X that just stopped working 2 days ago. It won't let me touch the screen at all. Since being on the phone is critical to my job, I went and got a new iPhone SE gen 2 to replace my current one.

I am having so much trouble setting this new phone. They are asking 2-factor authentication when I do not own another Apple device. Also, I have no clue what passcode I used for my backup on itunes. In order to reset the passcode, I have to do it on my phone -- which does not work.

What can I do here? I am just so stuck and frustrated with the ecosystem. Please help.

You need account recovery to access that Apple ID again.

Without that encryption password you won't be able to use that iTunes backup.

Sorry, but the ecosystem is doing exactly as you asked it to do.
