Can't select menu options using dialpad during a call in iphone 11pro

I have iphone11 pro. Many calls require us to select a menu using dialpad and I have recently noticed that doing so disconnects the call immediately. This is a such a basic feature and I can't believe I am struggling to get it working. It was defnitely working before but broken lately.

I think you misunderstood my problem. I am able to make and receive calls, but I can't use the dialpad during a call. e.g., calling a store like Costco requires me to press 6 to connect to tire centre. The moment I select 6, call gets disconnected. This has been happening consistently for over a month now. The phone is using latest iOS.

If we understand your post correctly, calls on your iPhone disconnect when you press a number as instructed by an automated menu. We’d like to help.


Follow the steps in this article:


If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone


If the issue continues let us know if this happens with more than one phone number or automated system. Has this happened when calling from multiple locations?

It sounds like you’re dealing with a software conflict that is causing this issue. In order to isolate and fix this issue, you will need to restore your iPhone. Before you attempt any restore, we recommend you save and back up the most recent data on your iPhone. Steps on how to back up an iPhone can be found here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch


Once the backup has been completed, you can restore your iPhone. Steps on how to restore an iPhone can be found here:  Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings


Once that's done, we’d recommend setting your iPhone up as new, and testing it out before restoring from a backup. Check out this article for those steps: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

Our apologies. We understand that when you make a call to a number which results in an automated recording and you select a number from that recording your call disconnects.


The article we provided can help with calls disconnecting as well as not being able to place calls. Does this happen when you call other numbers with automated systems or has this happened only with a specific store phone number and automated system?
