Recording a powerpoint

When I try to record a powerpoint to make a voiceover screen recording, the audio does not work every time or it only works on one slide. I have made sure powerpoint is up to date, this is on a MacBook Air - it is up to date. And I have double-checked the audio inputs. Does anyone know how to make this work?
