imovie duplicate movie
I can duplicate some movies in iMovie and cannot other movies.
I would like to duplicate the last movie I made, but each time I choose to do so, nothing happens.

What steps are you doing to duplicate the movie?
Try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and selecting to delete preferences in the box that
appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Now see if you can duplicate the movie projects that previously would not duplicate.

I was following the standard duplication process, command + D, or the menu in the right bottom circle.
Again, it normally works, and worked with other projects today.
Used your select all/copy/past and it was successful. Thank you.
I followed you suggestion to delete the preferences, but it didn't work.
Now I can duplicate some projects, and others I cannot. This is strange. The file 7min, 7seconds long.
I am running Catalina, 40GB internal memory. 2017 iMac.
As I mentioned in my earlier post, what steps are you taking to duplicate your project?
For a workaround, you can open your original project and do an Edit/Select All, Edit/Copy, of all the media in your project at one time, and then Edit/Paste it into a newly created project. Your edits will carry over. That will give you a duplicate project.

The question / problem isn't solved. I selected the down arrow expecting a drop down menu, and instead the button changed to solved.
You are welcome. :)
Sometimes things suddenly, inexplicably, don't work. So we take what the software gives us and do it another way, like you did.

Yes, stuff happens. As soon as i worked past that problem, now iMovie is showing me missing frames.
The joy of tech :-)
Maybe a frame rate issue?
