Undo keyboard shortcut (Cmd+Z) NOT working

My undo keyboard shortcut (Cmd+Z) has been working fine up till last week. However, when I tried it now, it simply doesn't work across all applications (TextEdit, Safari undoing of closed tabs, etc.) Both Cmd and Z keys work perfectly fine individually as we as with different combinations, however.

The undo function still works if I manually click undo in the top bar. Just the shortcut that has mysteriously stopped working. I've done research on past topics and tried restoring defaults for all the keyboard shortcut categories. All of it didn't work. Restarted my macbook as well.

In System Preferences> Keyboard> Input Sources, enable Show Input menu in menu bar.

Select Show Keyboard Viewer from the Input Menu in the menu bar. Test the keyboard.

Test with another user account.

Please check/test in safe mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Which may take more longer than your usual Normal boot.

Note: Safe mode prevents your Mac from loading certain software as it starts up, including login items, system extensions not required by macOS, and fonts not installed by macOS. It also does a basic check of your startup disk, similar to using First Aid in Disk Utility. And it deletes some system caches, including font caches and the kernel cache, which are automatically created again as needed.

Test with other external keyboard if you have same issue.
