Zip Files

To make a zip file in the Mac is very easy.

Select the files in the Finder, control-click and choose "Compress 7 items".

The zip file will be created in the same location.

To create a zip folder, go to Finder and secondary click on the folder you would like to make into a zip folder. Then, when the menu comes up, press ‘Compress’.

Apple Reduce PDF Size

Compress a PDF in Preview on Mac

1. In the Preview app on your Mac, open the PDF, then choose File > Export.
2. Click the Quartz Filter pop-up menu, then choose Reduce File Size.

Note that PDF's are already compressed and you might not buy much by zipping them. In fact it is possible they will get bigger!
