How do I gradually decrease the muffled sound effect to no muffled sound effect? The clip with the muffled effect still sounds muffled, even if the effect is at 0%. I tried crossfading the sound clips, but that doesn't work. Help!

I applied the muffled sfx to a clip, then bladed the clip in half, removed the muffled sfx from the second half and dissolved between the two and the muffled effect fades out into the normal sounding clip.
