Is the MBP Keyboard Repair Program just a new faulty keyboard?

I have had the top case of my MBP 15” replaced several times for faulty keyboards. First under warranty and then under the program. Why is this Even called a ‘repair”? The Butterfly Keyboard is not compatible with dust particles by design. Huge flaw. Why is Apple replacing a bad part with a new BAD part that will soon start malfunctioning again? Am I alone here? I want the scissor keyboard that seems to be working fine. I can’t spend $4K on a new 16” just to be able to use my computer. I don’t want band aids, I want a real repair. Is that too much to ask? I spoke to Apple today Because keys are failing to work again, they sent me this old link which I’ve tried and rarely works, and if it does, your problem will be back soon. Either replace the bad part with a good one or get rid of all the dust particles in the world...Apple, please!

Unfortunately Apple cannot easily fix the bad design decision in your laptop. You are stuck with a faulty butterfly design. I've actually noticed the replacement keyboards are a bit different than the original keyboard found in the 2016 model and seem to work a bit better than the original Apple keyboard, but like you said the butterfly design is unable to handle dust or dirt particles at all. In addition to the dust & dirt issue, there is also an issue with the very fragile plastics in the butterfly mechanism and the very thin & fragile key caps which end up twisting & binding. Plus the micro key switch is so small & thin that it can crack causing either no key response or it will type multiple characters with a single key press.

I believe Apple only allows for two free repairs under the free Keyboard Repair Program so this repair will be your last one if the laptop is less than four years old. The warranty repair does not count against the two time replacement in the free keyboard repair program.

Thank you for your response. I’ll go ahead and place this complaint on the product feedback site, I don’t see not much hope ahead If the solution they offer is the same. I’m really not interested in another keyboard replacement, I think I had the “improved” one Installed after my last top case change, and it’s already acting up.. I’ll check out the local consumer protection laws as well. Thanks again !
