I use pulse secure and Microsoft Remote Desktop to log into my work computer from home. anyone know if these softwares have legacy system exertions and won't be compatible with the next Mac update?

You should always wait a few iterations of a new OS to get the bugs worked out, that's likely a year from now!
No need to worry, but to see them, just don't upgrade to 10.16 if the developers don't have updates...
About this Mac>System Report>Software>Extensions, click on Obtained from Header, all that aren't Apple are Legacy.
No kernel extensions will work in the upcoming macOS 11, Big Sur. MS will have to update the app to work in the new OS.
Can't comment on Pulse Secure, but MS Remote Desktop does not use any system extensions.
