I have the latest ipad pro. Whenever I start it or I unlock the screen, it automatically opens the “notes” application.

Moreover, I have noticed that when I charge my ipad with the ipencil (2nd gen) attached to it, the ipad charges to up to 97%. It fully charges only when the pencil is not attached.

Access features and information from the Lock screen

Start drawing and taking notes: (On supported models) Tap Apple Pencil on the Lock screen. Whatever you create is saved in Notes.

To choose what you can access from the Lock screen, see Change access to items when iPad is locked.
