Can I delete old iPhone software updates?

This is a spin-off from https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2046668.

The question was from 2009, now I would like to know the path for Windows 10, and I would like to know whether other paths have changed.

Are all of these folder's contents ready to be deleted?

* Mac: ~/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates

* Windows 10: C:\Users\USER\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

* Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

* Windows Vista: iPhone: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

And are there any more folders of large size that can be deleted and are not deleted automatically?

p.s.: I use an iPhone 7 and an iPhone 4s, the only software update I see is for the iPhone 4s, perhaps the issue has been fixed for newer models anyway?

iPhone 7, iOS 13

These will be there only if you have updated your device using iTunes. If you have downloaded and not installed it will remain there.

If you have updated the iOS "over the air" then these will not be there on your Mac / PC --> Update automatically

With iOS 12 or later, or iPadOS, you can have your device update automatically. To turn on automatic updates, go to Settings > General > Software Update, then tap Automatic Updates. Your device will automatically update to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS. Some updates might need to be installed manually.
