imac os - 10.6.3 suppport.

I am helping a mate with this old imac 2011 - during upgrade it failed. tried using the disk it came with but it failed to install the packages and recovery mode is stuck is a globe with status bar below.

Checked disk - found no issues via disk utility.

is there anything that could caused this issue?

Try running this application again." I have tried the whole process of erasing and reinstalling mutliple times. I also made sure the system clock is in sync with time.apple.com. Also the whole installation is via ethernet and not wifi. The OS version that is to be installed (automatically) is MacOS Sierra. Any suggestions as to why this is happening and how I can potentially fix it?

2011 iMac not responding to recovery or installation Hello all, I have a 2011 iMac that was given to me. When I turn it on, I am brought to the macOS Utilities screen and given the option of recovering from Time Machine or reinstalling El Capitan. When I try to install El Capitan, I am able to follow the prompts, agree to terms, log in to apple, and select a drive to install, until I get to the loading bar where it says "Downloading additional components. Your computer will restart automatically." When the loading bar finishes, the screen just closes and I'm brought back to the macOS utilities screen. No reset, nothing. The Installer Log is repeating an error "[420] TSpliced font failed creating descriptor for ___" with a font name. I have reset the PRAM, tried using internet recovery (nothing happens), changed the date in terminal, erased the drive, and still nothing happens. I have attempted to create a bootable drive but my MacBook Air no longer supports El Capitan. Any advice on how to move forward with this would be appreciated.

Formatted now can't install OS Hi I've recently formatted my imac (late 2015) to be reset to factory setting. After formatting and trying to reinstall the OS (Sierra) it's saying that the disk has errors which I can't repair when I try to run the disk utility. I've tried to reinstall the OS but it only goes half way then exits, I'm kinda in an endless loop of jot being able to start the mac back up properly. Any suggestions on how I can proceed. I have another mac same year which is working so I can download anything I need to aid the currently not working one. TIA

Not sure what happened, I tried recovery mode again, this time with macOS disk in surprisingly it worked but still it’s lagging and taking a while to install. I am still waiting on further updates as it’s still showing pending install with reduced time for past 4 hours I doubt it’s still failing,
