Random Music Playing

My phone just recently started playing music out of nowhere. I closed all apps and it was still playing. I cut my phone off to stop it and it didn't start again when I turned it on. HOWEVER, in 48 hours, I've had to do that 4 times. I noticed someone asked about this while using iphone 6. I also noticed some people were still mad about it in 2019. It's 2020, on top of everything going on.... why is this still going on and what are some next steps?! I have an iphone XR

Hey there blairypotter,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand music is playing unexpectedly from your iPhone, even with all apps closed. We’ll be happy to help with this.

To verify, do you have any Bluetooth devices connected? Go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off if so and see if the issue returns. Sometimes, certain Bluetooth connections, like connecting to a car stereo, can automatically make music play.

If this doesn’t help, check for any updates to iOS:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

If you’re already up to date, back up your iPhone and reinstall iOS using the steps here:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch won't turn on or is frozen

We hope this helps.

Take care.
