16" MacBook Pro to Acer S271HL Display not working in Clamshell Mode

I can not get my new 16" MacBook Pro to work with my Acer S271HL Display "Input Not Supported" appears on Display when I close the cover from my CalDigit Mini Dock that I purchased from Apple when I purchased the Laptop. Works fine in Clamshell Mode to LG HDMI TV that I have. I have a 2010 MacBook Pro that the Acer display works fine with through a Mini Display port to HDMI Adapter. I have done all the steps I can find online such as resetting PRAM and SMC and different adapters. Anybody have ideas, I am very frustrated.
