How to AirDrop to Photos App

Currently, when I AirDrop pictures from my phone to my MacBook Air, it automatically goes to my downloads folder. Is it possible to change a setting somewhere so my pictures automatically go to the Photos App instead?

Where do AirDrop photos land when transferred? When I use AirDrop from my phone to my Macbook Air, the photos land in the Downloads folder, not the Photos app. I tried dragging one over; it simply didn't appear. I tried Move To --> I couldn't find the Photos Library. How can I fix this so that AirDrop photos go in the Photos app?

AirDrop photos from iPhone to Mac: must they go to "Downloads" folder? Can I change destination to Photos? When AirDropping photos from iPhone to Mac, photos go to "Downloads" folder rather than Photos. Getting them to Photos is a circuitous process. How can I change the default such that photos go to Photos? I find no satisfactory answers in this forum or others. Some answers are, I believe, just flat wrong (see link). Running OSX 10.15.7 (Catalina) and iOS 14.4

I actually found the answer to my own question haha!

Go to System Preferences > Sharing > Bluetooth Sharing
Change the setting "When receiving items:" from "Accept and Save" to "Ask What to Do"

At first go to system preferences , then click sharing, then bluetooth sharing
