Lost unsent text message on IPad

While composing, my text message vanished. I often inadvertently touch the screen. I sometimes touch <X when I intend to select “return.” Can my message be retrieved?

Compose new text has vanished from iphone 11 I now have lost the way to compose new text messages , there is just a blank part at the top of my screen when text message is open. How can I get the original screen back??
