Syncing iPhone with apple watch

I dove into a swimming pool with my iPhone in my pocket!!! Oh boy!! It’s basically dead and I’m getting a new phone delivered in a few days (thank god for insurance!). I have a pretty impressive streak for my activity circles. If I continue the streak by wearing my watch, but it’s not synced to a phone because it’s not working, will the watch sync and move all the data over to the new phone when I get it in a few days (especially the the days I worked out when I didn’t have a phone). Or is all the data lost because I wasn’t able to “unsync” my watch from the phone before I decided to dive into the pool with the phone in my pocket?

Thanks,

Mark

Depending when your phone last backed up to the cloud you can restore this backup to your new phone you may lose some data but not the majority of it.

Remember to remove the watch from your old phone before you pair it with the new phone,here are the steps to do it;

Like this;

On a computer, go to iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID.

Go to Find Iphone.

Select All Devices, then click your Apple Watch.

Click Erase Apple Watch.

Select Next until the device is erased.

Click the remove button next to your Apple Watch.

It also mentions it in the link I provided half way down the page.
