Some of the photos taken in the last month (during time I bought my new MacBook Air and had quite a bit of trouble transferring from Airport backup) now won't upload to my Air. The message states they are uploading but never do. They are, however, still in my Cloud and on my iPhone. How can I get them to upload to my laptop?

From the information you've provided it sounds like you are using iCloud Photos to sync your photos between your iPhone and your MacBook Air. If this is correct, and you can see all your photos when you sign into the iCloud website, verify that iCloud Photos is set up on your Mac.
