Is an SD card with 512 GB memory compatible with the mac book air (for usage in SD card slot)?

Hello, my system storage on my mac book air is taking up most of the storage space on my computer and I can not seem to lower it. So thought about getting extra storage by increasing my SD card memory. Now I would love to know if I can use a micro SD card with a memory of 512 GB in the SD card slot of my Mac Book Air? Does anyone know?
