Finder sees iPhone but just wants a restore

When connecting my iPhone with latest system software both on the phone and the iMac, I open the Finder window and simply get "Software: 13.5.1 If you are experiencing problems with your iPhone, you can restore its original settings by clicking Restore Phone" The finder sees it as does the MUSIC APP but neither will list the general info or allow me to back it up or sync it... Help me Obi-Wan, you're my only hope..."

  • When you plug in your iPhone to your computer what is on the iPhone screen? Is there an option asking you to trust the computer? Or does it say to plug into iTunes?
