Multiple screen not working with windows 10 bootcamp

I have recently installed Win10 on my Macbookpro-mid-2012. Secondary monitor works well when i use MacOS Catalina but doesnt work when i open Win10.

It uses Intel HD Graphics driver. I have tried following steps -

  1. Updated Display Adapter driver
  2. Windows support through Bootcamp
  3. Some one suggested that at the startup just close the lid may bring the monitor screen - I tried this and initially screen gets activated on secondary monitor, then i choose my EFI drive. After the Windows Logo on secondary screen it starts showing “No Signal” on secondary monitor.

please help to make my secondary monitor work. Let me know if anyone needs any details.

Can you test the following sequence? You will need an external USB Keyboard and Mouse.

  • Connect your monitor when in macOS and ensure you can see the display on etc external monitor
  • Shutdown your Mac
  • Connect the external USB Keyboard/Mouse
  • Reboot and hold Alt/Option on the external keyboard
  • Choose Windows and check if your external monitor works
  • If it does not, close the lid, and wait for a few seconds. Is the monitor detected
  • Does any external Keyboard/Mouse input allow the monitor to wake up

What is the physical connection between MBP and the secondary monitor?
What is the brand/model of your monitor?

  • I have tried connecting to external mouse and keyboard that doesnt work either.
  • I have tried draining my battery and then restarting mac by default to windows, that also doesn't work. I am attaching the inages of sequeces of start
  • 1. Windows Logo on External Monitor
  • 2. Monitor went on “No Signal” mode

  • 3. Window login screen on MBP

This doesnt work even Laptop Lid is down. This goes on No Signal even laptop lid is down.

First of all Thank you. I saw your responses had helped multiple people on their questions.

Sorry, what do you mean by cold boot? If you can tell me then I can try those steps.

Monitor works when i just power on and then close the MBP lid. It works till windows logo then display gets switched to MBP.

Display properties in windows always show extra monitor and I move my mouse it shows like its going to another screen but external screen shows “No Signal” just after windows logo and before login screen.

Thanks again!

If I don't see this fixing then I will have to scrap my macbook pro and buy a windows laptop for sure :-)

That is unnecessary expense. Since the Windows logo does show up, the physical connection may be fine. The devices drivers are not detecting the monitor. Also, your Mac does not allow 'hot-plugging' TB devices, but this is a DP device. Let me also check. I have a 2013 MBP, which also has a similar setup. I have not run into any issues with it, but it runs W7.
