left airpod pro not working, no sound, no battery status on iphone

My left AirPod pro has stopped working. I have only had them for a few months.


It shows no battery status and no red exclamation mark on my iphone from the home screen. I have tried resetting the Airpods, disconnecting / reconnecting to all devices they are paired to. It is running the current version of the firmware (2D27). I have also cleaned the tips and the case. Occasionally the battery status of the left airpod shows up and disappears. It does not recognize when it is in my ear.


The right one works with no issues.


Any other suggestions on what I can do - or is this a bring it into the Apple Store issue? Has anyone else run into this problem?
