New IPhone 11 no sounds for texts alerts

I have tried all the fixes that I could search but my text sounds don't work consistently. I am receiving texts but with no sound alerts. This is frustrating and time consuming trying to fix it. I read on this forum from a few years back to disable my bluetooth but that is not a viable solution because my apple watch needs the bluetooth feature accessible. Any ideas on how to fix this? This is a pretty big deal for such an expensive phone not to be able to do.
