iPhones not showing in Finder

Myself and my wife both have 2017 iPhone SE's. When connected to my Macbook Pro running 10.14.6, they do not show in Finder. I have already tried different cables & ports, and temporarily switching off the CD's, DVD's & iPods setting in Finder/Preferences, but still no joy. The devices do show they are charging when connected, but in iTunes, the devices do show but I cannot Manage Backups

They will only show in Finder on Macs running macOS Catalina (10.15).

That's not a feature of macOS 10.14.

Good afternoon Yorks_John,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

It sounds like you can't see your iPhones when connected to your MacBook Pro with macOS Mojave. The resources below will help you address this issue:

If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone, iPad, or iPod

Locate and view your connected device on your computer

Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod with your computer

"After you set up syncing with the Finder using USB, you can set up the Finder to sync to your device with Wi-Fi instead of USB.

  1. Connect your device to your computer with a USB cable, then open a Finder window and select your device.
  2. Select “Show this [device] when on Wi-Fi."
  3. Click Apply.

When the computer and the device are on the same Wi-Fi network, the device appears in the Finder. The device syncs automatically whenever it's plugged in to power."

Take care.
