Payment Information Could Not Be Updated

New to the Apple world and not off to a great start...

Bought a MacBook Air and immediately updated the OS. Then went to the App Store to download applications I'll need and got a never-ending loop of me signing in and that I needed to "review" my account. Did some Googling and determined it was likely because I didn't have a payment associated with my account.

So, I tried updated my payment method via Preferences and Safari/Manager My Apple ID and get the same message:


Tried using 2 different credit cards and PayPal. None worked.

My address information is added and correct. I don't understand what the issue is or how to overcome it.

Oh, and it says contact apple support but when I go onto the Support page I can't create a ticket.

Thanks for the quick reply. Much appreciated. I was able to work through it by trying different combinations of things. My steps to overcome the issue in case it can help someone else down the road:


Could not sign into iTunes/App Store on my Air (kept getting the review account message, after logging in)

Determined that I needed to update my payment information but was unable to do so via Safari or through Preferences

Used my wife's iPhone - logged her out, logged myself in, to update payment information

Went back to AppStore to try to download apps but continued to get the "account review/log in" pop-up on loop

Noticed it mentioned iTunes in the pop-up so went into iTunes to log in and confirm my account. While I kept getting the "account review/log in" pop up, I noticed iTunes did populate so it recognized my info.

Went back to App Store, logged in, am able to download apps to my Air.
