Why does my Ipod 6 touch have vertical thick what lines?

A couple of days ago my iPod started looking like this with thick white vertical lines or sometimes a full screen of transparent white covering the screen. It was working fine the day before, turned it off for the night and the next morning it had lines. I have already tried a hard reset, it didn't help. Please help!
