what if arrangement tab is not there

I am trying to use an extended monitor with my MAC BOOK but when i click display, there is no Arrangement option. How could i mirror or extend without that option?

The arrange pane only appears after you have successfully added an External display and its name and capabilities are known. Before then, there is nothing to arrange, so it is not shown.


If you are "blindly" trying to set up an external display when your built-in display is unusable, Command-F1 can be used to toggle "Mirror Displays".
