heart rate accuracy

when i put on my watch i get an initial heart rate reading that is way too high- like 2-3 time my true rate.. so when i finish my workout the max heart rate is skewed by this initial reading.. Is there a way to reset my beginning heart rate when i start my workout?

It sounds like you're seeing an issue with your heart rate being tracked on your Watch. We recommend checking out this article to Get the most accurate measurements using your Apple Watch. This article will give you tips to improve the measurements from the Watch, as well as steps to take to calibrate your Watch for better tracking. Once that has been done, complete a normal workout to test if the issue is still going on.

Thanks for the info-- tried your solution, but it didn't work.. Put my watch on this am and the first reading was 178. However, I inadvertently found an answer today.. Half way through my workout I took a break and ended the session.. When I started up again, the 2nd workout initial reading was correct ... so from now on I'll false start a workout-- delete- and have my starting heart rate correct.
