Can't browse Apple Music service on Catalina

Starting yesterday afternoon I've been unable to view albums pages for artists in Apple Music. The act of performing a search and visiting an artist page seems to cause the app to enter a state where it's impossible to further browse Apple Music without quitting the Music app.


I've tried quitting and restarting the app several times, along with rebooting the computer. Anyone else seen this?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 10.15

Thanks for posting on Apple Support Communities. It seems that you are unable to browse through artists in the Apple Music app on your Mac. The artist pages aren't loading and then it will freeze, causing you to have to quit the app. You've tried some troubleshooting already, including quitting the app and restarting the computer.


We suggest you try the following troubleshooting steps, testing after each step:


  1. Sign out of your account, quit the Music app, then sign back into your account. In the Music app go to Accounts > Sign Out.
  2. Try testing in safe mode to see if the issues persists. How to use safe mode on your Mac
  3. Try logging into a different user account to test. If you don't have one already, you can create one for testing purposes. Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac.


If the issue still persists, try the steps in this resource as well:


If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services
