iPad Pro Magic Keyboard “space bar” Not Responding

I bought a brand new iPad Pro and Magic Keyboard and absolutely love them both, my only frustration is when I’m trying to type and press my “space bar” it doesn’t work and i have to continually take my iPad off the keyboard to finish typing. Also, when I’m typing and press my “space bar” is closes my recent app I’m typing in. Is anyone having the same issue? Because it’s very annoying to pay all this money for it not to work properly.
