Chromecast does not work with MacOS 10.15.5

I just finished talking with the Google Chromecast Tech Support, since my MacBook does not detect the chromecast. My iphone, windows laptop, android phone, and android tablet all work with chromecast without any problem. After several tests, they confirmed that the problem is with MacOS 10.15.5, and that it is Apple who should push an update to fix the problem. However, I have no idea how to contact the right person at Apple, that is why I open this thread here.


Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I have Chromecast 1st gen, connected to a 2.4GHz wifi. I tried my Macbook both with the 5.8GHz wifi connection and with the same 2.4GHz connection, and in both cases chrome says that no casting device is found.


Please, help.

I have found the problem: I have been using Endpoint Security VPN for work, which installs a firewall, and it seems that it does not unload it even after the VPN is off. Here is an script that stops the service and unload the firewall: https://gist.github.com/bubenkoff/4043130


After doing so, Chromecast works as expected.
