My MacBook Air Retina speakers won't turn off when I use Bluetooth Wireless speakers.

How do I disconnect my MacBook Air Retina speakers while using Bluetooth Wireless headphones?

You probably need to set your wireless speakers as the sound output.

Or in the Sound options in the System Preferences

I have the same issue when turning on my bluetooth headset. The primary sound output (in my case my external Aureon soundcard) stays selected. Unless I select the headset in the sound settings as primary output.
