MacBook Pro won’t boot up

When I press the power button it starts up as normal. The bar at the bottom begins to fill, then it goes away, clock spins and the pc turns off. I’ve tried safe boot and other boots and it won’t go past the exact same spot each time. Thanks for any help you may have. It is an older MacBook Pro.

I understand your Mac turns on but at some point in its startup sequence it just shuts down agin. Attempting to start in Safe Mode doesn't change that behavior.


Even though your Mac obviously turns on, begin with If your Mac doesn't turn on. That gets some preliminary steps out of the way.


Read and follow each of those steps, including all the links within it, all the way through and including Step 4, which directs you to:

Read and follow each of it steps also, all the way through and including the end, which takes you to:
