After upgrading to Catalina, I cannot turn the pages while reading an issue of a magazine. Previously (unbeknownst to Apple) I used OPTION/Bottom Paranthesis Key). Now no longer works.

Have you tried the roller ball? Otherwise you'll have to use the Back button to go back to previous viewed window:

why doesn't apple know the answer to Anything anymore? I'll keep trying combination of keys. the only way to view is all the pages on the side, and go one by one. it's ridiculous!

I don't have magic mouse
old style wired mouse
With a finger swipe on the Apple Magic mouse. You may have to setup the System/Mouse preferences for that feature.
