Catalina Update 10.15.5 Fails (But not because of insufficient space)

It has been several weeks of troubleshooting, and still no solution. 10.15.5 Update attempts in Safe Mode, through App Store, through System Preferences, and even through Terminal. I have several hundred GB available. The update runs and tries, system restarts, but the update is then still available, and is still "stuck" in 10.15.4. Other ideas or suggestions??

Check if you don't have a too much "OS-intrusive" software.

In my case, I had to uninstall Cisco AnyConnect. Update worked fine then even from System Preferences.

Edit : I didn't notice the APFS error on my side...

UPDATE: The following error occurs... "Could not create a preboot volume for APFS install." How can I remedy this?
