Maps App on Mac (OS 10.15.5) will not sync with Maps App on iPhone

Maps App on Mac (OS 10.15.5) will not sync with Maps App on iPhone & iPad. Maps App on Mac is not listed in Apps on this Mac using iCloud. How do I fix?

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

I don't believe they do. You won't find messages in that list, or iMovie, Quicktime, Pages, Garageband, Voice memos and quite a few more. Even if you don't use those yourself, they are still options on the iOS device but not on the Mac.

Winston: thanks for the concise reply. My follow up question then is "why not". All of the native MAC OS and iOS applications that I regularly use and for which I store data in iCloud routinely are synced with the iCloud data. So why is "Maps" different. Thanks.
